“In 2022 we started our tradition of a formal awards banquet. I believe our young athletes put in a tremendous amount of work and deserve to be recognized. All wrestlers who commit to a full season of wrestling and team events are invited to dine and be presented with a gift to commemorate their efforts. Then there are other types of wrestlers in the room who add even more to the team, those kids who bring that extra with them every day deserve special recognition. I’ve put together specific awards just for that. I know I remember having a formal banquet when I was their age and it was one of the highlights of the season. It’s like a big party where they can hang out with all of their teammates without having to grind. But one key to it is to dress for the occasion, they are a big deal and we want them to feel it!”
